Policy

Terms of use

Draft: written from what the atlas does, to be reviewed by a lawyer before payments start.

SmartMaps India ("the atlas") is run by Akhil Raj Santhosh, an individual based in Bengaluru, India, 402, Shree Lakshmi Grand, Jakkasandra, Koramangala, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560034. By using the atlas or subscribing to a plan you agree to these terms.

The service

The atlas shows population, economic and other figures for places in India, built from public sources and our own estimates, and Gazette of India land notices read daily. Figures can be wrong; each says how it is known, and the methods and sources are described. Do not rely on the atlas for legal, financial or property decisions: check the original source (for a land notice, the Gazette notice itself).

Accounts

You sign in with Google or your mobile number and are responsible for what is done with your account. You must be 18 or older, or have a parent's or guardian's consent.

Plans, payment and renewal

Paid plans and their prices are on the plans page. Payments are processed by Razorpay. A subscription renews automatically each month or year until you cancel. We may change prices or what a plan includes; a price change applies from your next renewal after we tell you, and you may cancel before it.

Free trial

Signing up starts a 14-day Pro trial with no card; it ends by itself and nothing is charged.

Fair use

Use the atlas for your own work. Do not resell, republish in bulk, scrape, or share your account's paid access, and do not try to get around the plans. The data has its own licences (OpenStreetMap under the ODbL, Census and Election Commission publications and others): credit them as the sources page says.

Liability

The atlas is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, our liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India; the courts at Bengaluru have jurisdiction. Questions: hello@smartmaps.in.
