SmartMaps India
India in numbers, for any place you pick.
People, economy, seats and representatives, land notices, roads and more, for every state, district and constituency. From 2011 to today, from official sources, on a map you can make your own.
What you can do
The answer first, the detail when you want it.
Find any place
Search a village, panchayat, constituency or district, or tap it on the map. A short summary comes first; every figure is a tap away.
Check land notices
See, free, whether a Gazette land notice names your village, when, and whether objections are open, with the notice itself.
Know your seats
Your assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies, their members, and the people, economy and services inside them.
See change over time
Play the years from 2011 to today: population, GDP, vehicles and more, with official years and projections told apart.
Draw your own area
A circle around your home or a shape around a project: the atlas counts what is inside, from its grid of the whole country.
Roads, airports and projects
Four- to ten-lane highways, roads and railways being built, airports and ports, with their figures a tap away.
Who it is for
For people with a stake in a place.
Families and NRIs
Keep an eye on land and home from anywhere: notices, roads coming through, how the place is changing.
Lawyers, developers and surveyors
Survey numbers in acquisition notices, objection deadlines, project routes, and exports for your files.
Journalists and researchers
Comparable numbers for any area, each with its source, method and how sure it is.
Campaigns and public offices
Every constituency's people, economy and services, mapped and over time.
How it works
Every number says where it comes from.
Official counts are used as published and marked ✓. Where no one publishes a figure for a place, the atlas estimates it by a method tested against real counts, and says so in a word under the figure. The method and sources are one tap away on every figure, and listed on Data and sources.
What's in it
All of India, and Kerala in depth.
Every state, district and seat in India; in Kerala, every taluk, local body and village too. See everything, and what's coming →

Questions
Asked often.
What is the atlas?
A map of India that shows the numbers for any place you pick: a state, a district, a Lok Sabha or assembly seat, and in Kerala every taluk, local body and village. Tap a place and you see its people, economy, seats and representatives, land notices, roads, schools, health and more, for every year from 2011 to today.
Is it free?
Yes. Everything anyone shares with you opens in full, and every place, module and map layer is free to look at. The paid plans add the work around the answers: drawing your own areas with every figure, survey numbers in land notices, alerts, full details for airports and roads, exports and reports.
Does it work on my phone? Is there an app?
It works in any phone browser: the figures sit in a sheet you pull up from the bottom. An Android app built on the same design is planned.
Who makes it?
Akhil Raj Santhosh, an independent developer in Bengaluru. It is not a government website. See who makes it.
What does it cover in Kerala, and elsewhere?
All of India by state, district, Lok Sabha seat and assembly seat; in Kerala also every taluk, local body and village, in English and Malayalam. See what's in the atlas.
Is my land being acquired?
The atlas tells you, free, whether a Gazette notice names your village, how many, the latest date and whether objections are open, with the notice's PDF. Whether your plot is included depends on its survey number: Pro shows the survey numbers each notice lists. Always check the Gazette notice itself, and ask a lawyer before acting.
